Department of Agricultural Engineering

About

Founded in the year 2024, Dept. of Agriculture started functioning with a vision to impart indepth knowledge of agricultural sciences and train students of rural Punjab in developing expertise in frontier areas of agriculture for a sustainable agricultural production. The students are specially groomed for technical knowledge of agriculture industry. A multidisciplinary approach is the essence of the course which is achieved by offering specialization in various fields of agriculture. The department has a strong interdisciplinary research and teaching base in agriculture, biotechnological science and engineering which prepares the students for academics, research, and agro-industry and in various field jobs. The department has well qualified and experienced staff along with well- equipped full-fledge laboratories with modern audio visual aids for teaching learning process. Also the department organizes Rural Agricultural work experience, filed demonstration and visits to agricultural industries for overall development of the students. The department has been consistently working towards the goal to produce highly skilled and scientifically oriented manpower through flexible, adoptive and progressive training programs

HOD Message

Department of Agriculture Engineering started functioning with a vision to impart in-depth knowledge of agricultural sciences and modern technologies used in agriculture machinery in developing expertise in frontier areas of agriculture for a sustainable agricultural production. Agriculture engineering is the branch of engineering with also deals with the design of layout of agricultural buildings, drainage, soil management and erosion control, irrigation and water supply, rural electrification, and agricultural product processing. Modern technology, engineering methods, and agricultural concepts and procedures are all combined in the Agriculture Engineering program. The goal of agriculture engineering is to solve issues in the realm of agriculture in order to raise agricultural productivity and farmers' standards of life. It is a highly technologically advanced subject that provides excellent job opportunities in a variety of sectors and in any country in the world. The students are specifically groomed for technical knowledge of agriculture industry. A multidisciplinary approach is the essence of the course which is achieved by offering specialization in various fields of agriculture. The department has a strong inter-disciplinary research and teaching base in agricultural, biotechnological sciences and engineering which prepares the students for academics, research, agro-industry and in various field jobs
